Milestones:

• Rolled over from back to tummy
• Squealing/Laughing
• Scooting
• Reaches out to touch your face (sign of emotionally bonding)
• Grabbing at anything he can reach!
• He can now bring his hands together in a clawlike motion
• Babbling constantly
• Drinking 5.5 oz of milk every 3-4 hours

The biggest milestone since last month is Lucas learning to roll over from stomach to back. He did this for the first time on father’s day weekend at my folk’s house. We were all excited to see him roll over to his tummy for the first time, as this is the hardest roll to master. He learned to turn over from tummy to back at 6 wks.

We knew he was close to learning it as when he put him down, he would go to his side and arch his back. He’s been close before but his arm would get in the way. Every time I put her down on her back she gets so mad and arches all the way over on her side. Well, today she finally figured out how to get her arm out the way and rolled onto her tummy.

After he rolled over from his stomach to tummy for the first time, he didn’t do it again for about a week. When he did it again, he was on his way…. He kept doing it over and over like he’s been doing it all his life. Now we put him down and next second, he’s on his tummy.

He’s also learned to scoot while on his back. Combine that with rolling over and we have a very active baby whom you cannot leave unattended. We do not leave him unattended anymore where he has the potential to roll or fall off.

Lucas is also very adept now with his hands. He’ll grasp at anything: toys, hair, clothes, … he has grabbed my hair numerous times, my glasses, my clothes. A lot of times, whatever he grabs ends up in his mouth as well.

He is still drooling like a faucet especially when he starts chewing, sucking or gnawing at something. You’ll see his face and hands covered with drool. These are signs of teething however his doctor did not see any signs of tooth breaking out yet nor swollen gums. Just as well because we like looking at Lucas’ gummy smile…. It’s the cutest thing!

Lucas has also started squealing and laughing. The baby books say that a laughing baby is a sign that he is developing emotionally and socially. Usually Lucas will laugh/squeal when you tickle or blow raspberries on his tummy.
