We had the "big" ultrasound yesterday.

In this ultrsound, they check for any abnormalities in the baby's main organs. They also check the baby's measurements and in this screening, the baby is developed enough that they can tell the sex.

We saw the baby's brain, heart and it's 4 developed chambers, stomach, diaphragm, kidneys, little hands and feet. It was incredible sight to see it on screen! Mostly it was all black and white blobs to us but the doc pointed out the major organs to us.

We saw and heard the heartbeat at 154 beats/minute.

The baby is developing normally and everything looked good! It's about 7 ounces right now.

As for the sex..... you'll just have to wait like we will. ;)

I wasn't ready to find out the sex just yet. It's kind of fun trying to find the sex. I asked the doc to write down the sex on a card. Everytime, she scanned near the leg area, she told me to look away. Will on the other hand wanted to know so kept his eyes on the screen looking for the money shot.

He didn't see the obvious so we're thinking it could be a girl!?

The sealed envelope is in a secure place. If/when we are ready to find out the sex, we can do so in a more desired setting or occassion and not at the doc's office. :)

Will said that he hasn't peeked at the card which reveals the sex of the baby. :)
