We were driving home from daycare last Thurs and suddenly heard a gurgling sound from the backseat. Uh oh.... to me and Will, that sound doesn't bode well for us as it usually means vomit!
When we looked behind us, Lucas was in the throes of a puke fest, right in the car!! The poor guy, he threw up all his lunch and milk all over himself and the carseat (not fun -- gross/smelly).
Luckily, we lived only 5 mins from the daycare so we were able to get home immediately. We cleaned him up (and Will cleaned the carseat). After about 30 minutes, he vomitted again! It's not unusual for Lucas to throw up but it is unusual for him to throw up in succession in a short period of time.
We also noticed that he was lethargic. He just laid his head down on my lap or laid down on the floor. Very unlike him. Even when he has a fever, he is not this lethargic.
Concerned, we called the after hours nurse and went immediately to see the doc. On the way to the doctor (a 20 min drive), Lucas threw up again. Luckily, I was in the backseat with him and was able to catch most of it with a towel. He threw up mostly mucus (he was recovering from a cough/cold). He didn't have much to throw up anymore as threw up most of it during puke #1. So that was 3 pukes in the span of about 90 minutes. This has never happened to Lucas so we knew he had some sort of virus.
The doc checked him out and diagnosed him with having a stomach bug or virus. No medication prescribed, only tylenol for fever. We were relieved it was nothing serious but I felt for the poor guy cuz he looked so weak.
We stopped by the grocery on our way home to get some Pedialyte for him, to restore fluids in his body so that he won't get dehydrated.

I had just crossed the Bay Bridge so I was not going to stop unless he was choking on his vomit. So poor Lukey was sitting in vomit for the rest of the 25 min drive till we arrived at my parent's house.
Cleaning the car was a pain in the ass. Curdled up milk doesn't smell like flowers. It smells like well curdled up spoilt milk. gross. The car was really stinky even washing the car seat fabric. We resorted to a vinegar/water mixture to eliminate the pukey smell. :p
So right now, both of our cars smell like vinegar...... at least it doesnt smell like puke anymore (as much).
The next day, Fri, Lucas was feeling much better, thankfully, he still had a low grade fever but at least he was active and smiling.
